"Teaching is the one profession that creates all other professions."
On the 5th of September 2024, the students of class XII at St. John’s School came together to organize a warm and heartfelt Teachers' Day celebration. The event was honored by the presence of the distinguished chief guest, Ms. Susan John, lovingly referred to as Amma. A revered 84-year-old recipient of the Bravery Award in 1966, Ms. John, with her long-standing service to society, moved everyone with her story of resilience, dedication, and selfless contribution. Her words left the teachers inspired, reflecting the true essence of commitment and passion in the teaching profession.
The celebration began at 8:30 AM in the school auditorium, with the students opening the event by invoking blessings through a reverent prayer to the Lord. The program unfolded with a vibrant array of performances, starting with an energetic dance and a melodious qawwali that brought life to the auditorium. The joy was further amplified with games that had been thoughtfully planned by the students, ensuring that the teachers enjoyed a fun-filled time.
One of the highlights of the day was the touching gesture by the students, who presented the teachers with handmade cards. These cards were not just creatively designed but were also personalized with titles that perfectly reflected the unique personalities of each teacher, adding a sentimental touch to the celebration.
Following the performances and games, the teachers were presented with tokens of appreciation in the form of special gifts from Reverend Father T.J. Johnson and the school’s Principal, Ms. Reeja Ninan. To conclude the day, the teachers were taken out for a delightful lunch, giving them time to relax and enjoy the company of their peers. The entire celebration was a blend of appreciation, fun, and gratitude, making it a memorable day for everyone involved.
