VIGYANTRAM | TWO-DAYS WORKSHOP | GRADE III-XII
St. John's, in collaboration with Vigyantram—a premier technology education and training organization specializing in advanced STEM, AI, and robotics programs—successfully hosted a two-day workshop on 3rd and 4th August 2026. The event delivered targeted STEM training across three campus venues under the close supervision of dedicated internal faculty.
In the Basement Auditorium, Classes 3–5 explored Robo Soccer under the guidance of Ms. Shama Khan. The students assembled a custom DIY Junior Robotics Kit equipped with a chassis, BO DC motors, and a motor driver board, which taught them the fundamentals of basic mechanical design and circuit assembly. Meanwhile, the senior modules were smoothly managed by Ms. Sonal Srivastava for Classes 6–8, this took place in the Senior Computer Lab for the Internet of Things (IoT) track, where they programmed an Arduino Uno microcontroller alongside Wi-Fi modules and sensors (like LDR and Ultrasonic sensors), mastering hardware-software integration and automation logic. Simultaneously, Classes 9–12 utilized the Junior Computer Lab for Web Development, writing syntax directly into code editors like Visual Studio Code using HTML, CSS, and basic JavaScript to deploy responsive landing pages and gain essential front-end UI/UX skills.
By combining simultaneous venue distribution with these physical and digital toolkits, the event ensured zero distractions and maximized resource efficiency, successfully transforming students from passive tech consumers into active creators. Through this hands-on experience, students gained immense learning benefits by bridging the gap between theoretical science and practical application. Younger participants developed spatial reasoning, fine motor skills, and an early understanding of circuitry. Middle-school students sharpened their logical thinking and problem-solving abilities by debugging real-world hardware automation scripts. Senior students acquired industry-relevant technical competencies in coding, user interface design, and computational thinking.
Overall, this collaborative initiative fostered team building, fueled creative curiosity, and equipped students with critical 21st-century digital literacy skills essential for their future academic and career pursuits.
