On 25 January 2025, St. John’s School hosted an unforgettable event, Shalom, to bid farewell to the outgoing Class XII students. The day was filled with emotions, excitement, and heartfelt memories. Organized with meticulous care, the event perfectly combined blessings, entertainment, and appreciation. It was graced by the presence of Chairman Reverend Fr. T.J. Johnson, Vice Chairman Mr. Varghese George, Trustee Mr. P.K. Thankachan, and Principal Ms. Reeja Ninan.
The event began with a warm welcome prayer led by the students of Class XI, setting a reverent and reflective tone. This was followed by the lighting of the lamp ceremony performed by the dignitaries, symbolizing wisdom and positivity. Ms. Preeti Verghese, the Primary Coordinator, read a soulful Bible psalm, and Ms. Shipra Vohra, the Senior Coordinator, offered blessings to the students. The solemnity of the occasion continued as Class XII students lit candles, symbolizing their bright futures. Reverend Fr. T.J. Johnson then delivered an inspiring speech, sharing his heartfelt best wishes for the students as they prepared to embark on new journeys.
A nostalgic video presentation took everyone down memory lane, evoking both tears and pride as it highlighted the students' journey through the years. This was followed by a vibrant dance performance by Class XI students, setting a lively and celebratory tone for the day.
The highlight of the event was the distribution of titles to the students by the Chairman, Vice Chairman, Trustee, and Principal, recognizing their unique qualities, such as: Suhani Bhati – Biggest Heart, Muskan Tiwari – Dazzling Smile, Ankush Singh – Powerhouse, Niyati Bhardwaj – Miss Spotlight, Shijin Saji – Mr. Spotlight, Paridhi Tripathi – Ms. Best Dressed, Vansh Rawat – Mr. Best Dressed, Sakshi Kumari and Shaurya Bose – Miss and Mr. St. John’s.
The fashion show captivated the audience, showcasing the students' confidence and creativity. It culminated in a second round, where selected participants displayed their talents through various activities, leaving the audience thoroughly impressed.
Adding to the excitement, the event featured a thrilling dance battle, captivating performances, engaging games, and a Q&A session that helped finalize Mr. and Miss St. John’s. Principal Ms. Reeja Ninan showered the students with blessings and imparted lifelong lessons, leaving a lasting impact on everyone present.
As a gesture of gratitude, the students of Class XII presented a gift to the school, symbolizing their love and appreciation for the institution that shaped them. A skit performed by the students added an element of humor and drama, earning resounding applause from the audience.
The dignitaries, along with the Principal, distributed gifts to the students to honor their achievements and contributions over the years. The event concluded with a heartfelt vote of thanks by Culture Secretary Mudita. The Head Boy and Head Girl also expressed their gratitude to the school and teachers for their unwavering guidance and support throughout their journey.
The farewell celebration was a beautiful blend of nostalgia, joy, and hope for the future, leaving an indelible mark on the hearts of everyone who attended.
