St. John's School has the privilege to participate with its 91 students (28 girls and 63 boys) in exceptional football training cum workshop hosted at Delhi Public School, Greater Noida, on Wednesday, 10th April 2024. The event aimed to throw light on football's significance at grassroots levels in India and provided the insights into the sport's development and its future prospects. Distinguished personalities from the international football community graced the occasion and an enriching experience for all the participants. The event was chaired by Julia Farr - Asia Head, Borussia Dortmund, Anselm Kuchle - Deputy Managing Director, Intercontinental Football Institute, Germany, Gerhard Riedl - CEO, Riespo, Austria, Philip Klockl - CEO, Stryker Labs, Austria and Mr. Barun Das - Host and Main Organizer of the Event.
The workshop comprised various engaging activities designed to ignite passion and interest among the participants. Students enthusiastically participated in these activities, which provided them with practical insights into the world of football. Some students even had the opportunity to be interviewed, and addressing crucial topics such as women's participation and how to empowering them in football, as well as the challenges faced by female athletes, and the future of football in India.
The workshop fostered an environment of intellectual growth and encouraged participants to think innovatively. It provided a platform for students to explore new challenges and expand their horizons.
The insights gained from the event were invaluable, offering a deeper understanding of the diverse facets of football and its impact on society. This football training cum workshop has really left a remarkable learning experiences; it has not only enhanced participants; knowledge of the sports but also inspired them to become a messengers of change in the realm of football.
