Someone once remarked – It would be hard for the coming generations to believe that there once lived a saint, in flesh and blood, who won freedom for his country by sheer non-violence.
This saint was none other than the ‘Father of the Nation’ – Mahatma Gandhi, whose Principles of Truth, Non-violence and Satyagraha swept the world.
To commemorate the occasion of Gandhi Jayanti, the students of Class X presented a special assembly on 6th October, 2023.
The assembly commenced with the choir singing "Vaishnav Jan To Tene Kahiye" and "Raghupati Raghav Raja Ram". It was followed by a beautiful speech that emphasized the importance of non-violence. A fascinating skit was presented by the students which depicted some incidents from the life of Gandhiji which influenced his views and helped shape his values for life. The skit depicted the significance of honesty and how it gave him the inspiration to steer a mass movement that ultimately led to India’s freedom.
The Principal, Ms Reeja Ninan in her address encouraged the students to follow non-violence in their daily routine. She also emphasised on one of Gandhi's principles of maintaining "Cleanliness and Hygiene" in the school conduct.
The assembly helped the students to learn more about Gandhiji and inculcate his philosophy in day to day life.
