‘You must be the change; you wish to see in the world'.
On the 3rd of October 2023(Tuesday), St. John's School in Greater Noida West observed a heartwarming celebration of Gandhi Jayanti in its vibrant kindergarten department. The day was filled with special moments that left a lasting impression on the young minds.
The highlight of the day was the special assembly, where the children radiated with enthusiasm as they danced and sang songs dedicated to the life and principles of Mahatma Gandhi. This lively performance not only showcased their talents but also served as a delightful tribute to the Father of the Nation.
To ensure that the significance of the day was deeply understood, the importance of Gandhi Jayanti was thoughtfully conveyed to the children. They learned about the values of truth, non-violence, and simplicity, which Gandhi ji stood for throughout his life.
The classrooms and corridors of the kindergarten department came alive with creativity as bulletin boards were adorned with eye-catching decorations. These boards served as visual reminders of Gandhi ji's legacy, allowing the children to connect with his inspiring journey.
Both Nursery and Kindergarten classes actively participated in art and craft activities. The Kindergarten students crafted charkhas using popsicle sticks, symbolizing the iconic spinning wheel that Mahatma Gandhi used as a symbol of self-sufficiency and self-reliance.
The Nursery students, on the other hand, exhibited their artistic talents by creating models of "Gandhi ji ke teen bandar" - the three wise monkeys, embodying the principles of 'See no evil, hear no evil, speak no evil.'
This Gandhi Jayanti celebration at St. John's School fostered a sense of patriotism and instilled timeless values in the young hearts of the kindergarten department. It was a day of learning, creativity, and reverence for the ideals that Mahatma Gandhi cherished and shared with the world.
