Janamashtami marks the birth of Lord Krishna. It is one of the most significant festivals celebrated with much joy and enthusiasm across India.
On this joyful occasion, the pre-primary classes at St. John’s School celebrated Janmashtami with their full enthusiasm on 6th september 2023, Wednesday.
The Pre-primary teachers shared enchanting tales about Lord krishna that includes anecdotes on his love for butter ,his life-long friendship with Sudama,playing the flute etcetra.
The students dressed up as Lord Krishna and Radha complete with flutes ,peacock feathers , matkas and presented Dance performance. The celebration that followed was truly entertaining and educating.
The highly entertaining clip was followed by a quick round of questions like, ‘ What lay in the pot?’ ‘ How did Krishna lay his hands on the pot?’ The prompt and animated answers bore testimony to the young viewers’ alert, attentive minds and comprehension skills.
As an integral part of the celebration, our budding artists engaged in a Matki decoration activity. Their creativity knew no bounds as they added vibrant colours and intricate designs to the clay pots, just as Lord Krishna would have done in his playful spirit.
The Janmashtami celebration in the kindergarten department of St. John's School was not just a joyful event but also an educational one. It provided our young learners with a deeper understanding of our rich cultural heritage while encouraging creativity and teamwork.
We commend our little Radhas and Krishnas for their enthusiastic participation and commendable performances. Their energy and devotion reminded us all of the true essence of Janmashtami – celebrating the divine and nurturing the spirit of togetherness.
