"Exams are not obstacles but stepping stones—embrace them with confidence, manage time wisely, and believe in your potential to succeed."
St. John’s, in collaboration with Anon Global Foundation, successfully organized an insightful workshop on the topic “Celebrating Exams” for students of classes VI to VIII. The session was conducted by Dr. Arti Girdhar, Founder and President of Anon Global Foundation, with a focus on fostering a positive mindset toward examinations.
The workshop emphasized self-empowerment and confidence-building, encouraging students to replace negative self-talk with affirmations like "I can." Dr. Girdhar highlighted the importance of maintaining a clear and focused mind, urging students to listen to their elders and teachers with sincerity. She also addressed the emotional turbulence experienced between the ages of 13 to 20, describing it as an "emotional atomic bomb," and advised students on managing their emotions effectively.
Key takeaways from the session included self-reflection and engaging in meaningful conversations with oneself to boost confidence, distinguishing real confidence from superficial confidence by understanding that exams are not the sole determinant of success, and entering the exam hall with a calm and positive mindset. Effective time management strategies were introduced, including the time management quadrant to help students prioritize tasks efficiently. Learning retention techniques were shared to enhance memory and recall, along with guidance on identifying what to manage and eliminate for better productivity. The Golden Lock Rule was also introduced as a disciplined approach to organizing study schedules and revision plans.
The session concluded on a motivational note, empowering students to embrace exams as opportunities rather than obstacles. By adopting these strategies, students can cultivate a resilient mindset, reduce stress, and optimize their performance.
