The workshop on Cyber Safety was conducted for the students of classes VII and VIII on 23rd January 2025 at the auditorium of St. John’s School, Greater Noida West. The session was graced by the presence of Mr. Anirudh Yadav (Sub-Inspector) and Mr. Devendra Yadav (Inspector) as resource persons. The event was managed under the supervision of Ms. Shama Khan.
The workshop commenced with a welcome speech by the junior coordinator, Ms. Srividhya Balaji, setting the stage for an informative session on cyber safety. The esteemed guests were presented with a token of gratitude by the Principal, Ms. Reeja Ninan, as a heartfelt gesture of appreciation. The resource persons provided valuable insights into the importance of staying secure in the digital world. They elaborated on various social media platforms and the risks associated with them, emphasizing the need for responsible online behavior.
One of the key aspects discussed was the process of registering cybercrime complaints. The experts guided the students on how to file a complaint and shared helpline numbers for immediate assistance. Additionally, the students were introduced to the official cybercrime reporting website, www.cybercrime.gov.in, which is used for lodging complaints related to online fraud, harassment, and other cyber offenses.
Another crucial topic covered was online gaming safety. The speakers highlighted the risks involved in playing games online, such as cyberbullying, data theft, and addiction. They provided tips on how to stay safe while gaming and precautions to avoid falling victim to cyber threats.
The session also included a discussion on the Sanchar Saathi app, a government initiative used for blocking URLs of fraudulent websites and mobile numbers involved in cybercrimes. The experts explained its features and how it can be used to enhance digital security.
Apart from cyber safety, the speakers also touched upon driving license rules and regulations, making the students aware of essential legal aspects related to road safety and responsible driving.
The workshop concluded with an interactive Q&A session, where students had the opportunity to clarify their doubts. The event ended with a vote of thanks delivered by Ms. Vipasha, expressing gratitude to the resource persons and organizers for an insightful and engaging session. The workshop was highly informative and helped spread awareness about cyber safety among the attendees.
