Class X B had the privilege of celebrating the birth anniversary of Rabindranath Tagore in their special assembly on 17th May 2024. The assembly began with a presentation on Tagore's life and included quizzes about his achievements, showcasing the students' efforts to share his legacy with everyone present. A standout moment was the recitation of Tagore's captivating composition "Where the mind is without fear and the head is held high, Where knowledge is free....," which deeply moved the audience.
Rabindranath Tagore was a multifaceted genius—poet, visual artist, playwright, novelist, educationist, social reformer, nationalist, business manager, and composer—who reshaped Bengali literature and music in the late 19th and early 20th centuries. The students paid tribute to him through their paintings and by enacting his play 'Chandalika,' which addressed the social evil of untouchability prevalent during his time. The assembly concluded with the singing of the National Anthem, composed by Tagore himself.
