SHALOM 2025: ST. JOHN’S SCHOOL BIDS A HEARTFELT FAREWELL TO THE CLASS XII OF 2025–26
St. John’s School organised a graceful and emotionally resonant farewell ceremony, “Shalom 2025,” to bid adieu to its outgoing Class XII batch of 2025–26. The event unfolded as a thoughtful blend of tradition, celebration, and reflection, marking the culmination of a significant academic journey for the senior students. The programme commenced with a solemn prayer and the lighting of the ceremonial lamp by the honourable Chairman, Reverend Father T. J. Johnson, along with the Vice Chairman, Treasurer, Secretary, Principal Ms. Reeja Ninan, Senior Academic Coordinator Ms. Krishna Singh, and the class teachers of the outgoing batch. The illuminated lamp symbolised wisdom, guidance, and hope for the paths that lie ahead.
A scripture reading and a prayer for the future followed, invoking divine blessings for the students as they prepare to step into a world of greater responsibility and independence. One of the most moving moments of the ceremony was the candle-light blessing, where seniors received a symbolic flame representing knowledge, perseverance, and the values nurtured within the school. The emotional tone deepened with an audio-visual presentation that traced the journey of the batch through shared classrooms, friendships, achievements, and memories, leaving many in the audience reflective and nostalgic. Reverend Father T. J. Johnson addressed the gathering with words of wisdom, urging the students to remain grounded, compassionate, and purposeful as they move forward in life. His address served as a moral compass, reinforcing the importance of character alongside success.
Cultural performances added vibrancy to the evening, beginning with an evocative opening dance titled “The Moment Before the Flight,” symbolising transition and transformation. The event further featured ramp walks, dance face-offs, musical performances, speeches, and a talent showcase by the seniors, each reflecting confidence, creativity, and individuality. The highlight of the ceremony was the presentation of titles and farewell mementos to the students, recognising their unique qualities, contributions, and journeys throughout their school years.
The Principal’s address offered encouragement and heartfelt blessings, reminding students that the school would always remain a home they could return to. The programme concluded with messages from the Head Girl and Head Boy, reflecting on leadership, responsibility, and shared growth, followed by warm wishes from the juniors and staff.
Shalom 2025 stood not merely as a farewell, but as a celebration of memories, resilience, and new beginnings — sending the Class of 2025–26 forward with pride, gratitude, and hope.
