A workshop was organised on 24 January 2026 in the premises of St. John’s School for the students of Class VIII and their parents, with the objective of creating awareness about skill-based education and informed subject selection. The programme, titled “From Classroom to Career: Importance of Skill Education”, focused on guiding learners towards choosing Artificial Intelligence or Information Technology in alignment with future career opportunities. The event commenced with a warm and insightful welcome address by the Principal, Ms. Reeja Ninan, who emphasised the need for early exposure to emerging technologies in an ever-evolving digital world.
The resource person for the workshop was Mr. Amit Kumar Singh, Academic Advisor and Subject Matter Expert, who delivered an engaging and informative session. He elaborately explained the curriculum frameworks of both IT and AI, highlighting their relevance, practical applications, and growing significance in various professional domains. Through real-world examples and clear explanations, he helped students and parents understand how skill education bridges the gap between classroom learning and career readiness. An interactive question-and-answer session followed, during which parents actively raised queries regarding subject selection, future prospects, career pathways, and the long-term benefits of these disciplines. Mr. Singh addressed all concerns with clarity, offering valuable career-oriented insights and guidance.
The workshop proved to be highly beneficial, fostering awareness and confidence among students and parents in making informed academic choices. The programme concluded with a vote of thanks proposed by Ms. Smita Srivastava, who expressed gratitude to the resource person, the school management, parents, and students for their enthusiastic participation, making the session a meaningful and enriching experience for all.
