On 19 January 2026, St. John’s School hosted a CUET (Common University Entrance Test) workshop for Grade XII students. The session was led by resource persons Adv. Shivam Thakur and Adv. Bhakti Sharma, who guided participants through the entire CUET ecosystem.
Mr. Thakur outlined the major undergraduate streams available through CUET, including Science in Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, Biology, Computer Science, and allied fields such as Biotechnology and Environmental Science; Commerce courses, BBA, and integrated programs like LLB with specializations in Accounting, Finance, and Business Analytics; and Arts/Humanities with BA (Hons) in English, Economics, Political Science, Psychology, Sociology, and vocational courses like B.Voc. in Fashion Design or Tourism. These options mirror the comprehensive CUET course list highlighted in recent university guides.
Ms. Sharma connected each stream to realistic career trajectories in Data Science can lead to roles as a data analyst or research scientist, while a (Hons) often opens doors to chartered accountancy, financial analysis, or corporate management. She emphasized emerging fields such as AI, cyber-security, and design, noting strong industry demand for graduates in these areas.
The resource persons detailed the required CUET subject mixes for popular programs. They illustrated how selecting the right combination early on can keep multiple degree options open.
Practical advice was given on assessing personal interests, strengths, and long-term goals. Students were encouraged to map their preferred subjects to career outcomes, use online university portals to verify eligibility, and seek mentorship before finalizing choices. The session also covered study-plan strategies, time-management tips, and how to leverage CUET’s “general test” for flexible course selection.
Overall, the workshop equipped students with a clear roadmap for navigating CUET, from subject selection to career planning, and sparked enthusiasm for making informed, purpose-driven choices.
