This vibrant spirit came alive on 20 November 2025 when St. John’s School, Greater Noida West, inaugurated its grand two-day Annual Function, Varnanjali: Illuminating Minds Through the Chromatic Symphony of Words. Day One unfolded with the Junior Wing gracefully opening the celebration, as its young talents took the stage to usher in the annual function with charm and promise.
The school grounds shimmered with excitement as students, parents, teachers, and distinguished guests gathered to witness a magical confluence of art, creativity, and talent.
The event was graced by the esteemed presence of Chief Guest Shri Moses Dhinakaran, Deputy Inspector General, CRPF, Hon’ble Chairman Rev. Father T.J. Johnson, Respected Principal Ms. Reeja Ninan, Hon’ble Vice Chairman Mr. Varghese George, Hon’ble Trustee Mr. P.K. Thankachan, Hon’ble Secretary Mr. P.D. Daniel, priests from various parishes of the Delhi Diocese, and the learned faculties from the field of education.
The celebration began with a dignified Guard of Honor presented to the guests, followed by the lighting of the ceremonial lamp—a timeless symbol invoking wisdom and divine blessings. As the soft glow of the flame filled the stage, the gathering rose for a soulful prayer song, marking a serene and graceful beginning to the evening.
A warm and heartfelt welcome by Principal Ms. Reeja Ninan set the tone for the festivities. This was followed by a vibrant Welcome Dance—a burst of colours, rhythm, and joy that instantly captivated the audience. The Annual Report that followed offered a thoughtful glimpse into the school’s achievements, initiatives, and significant milestones of the year, reflecting the collective dedication of the entire St. John’s community.
The evening carried forward with special presentations, including a tribute to 150 years of Vande Mataram, stirring patriotic pride in every heart. The Varnanjali theme song further enriched the ambience, celebrating the timeless companionship of books and the luminous world they create through stories, wisdom, and imagination.
Chief Guest Shri Moses Dhinakaran addressed the gathering with inspiring words, emphasizing discipline, integrity, and perseverance as the pillars of success. He was felicitated by the dignitaries, along with the foundation members of St. John’s School. The felicitation of meritorious students of the academic year 2024–25 added yet another proud moment to the evening, acknowledging excellence and encouraging young learners to strive higher.
A heartfelt tribute was offered to two visionary leaders—Late Lamented His Grace Dr. Paulos Mar Gregorios, the first Metropolitan of the Diocese of Delhi, and Late Lamented His Grace Job Mar Philoxenos, the second Metropolitan. Their profound wisdom, humanitarian contributions, and commitment to learning continue to guide the values of the institution. It was also announced with immense pride that the 8th Dr. Paulos Mar Gregorios Award will be conferred upon eminent scientist Dr. Tessy Thomas, fondly known as the Missile Woman of India, at the Thyagaraj Sports Complex on 30 November 2025.
The highlight of the cultural segment was the Varnanjali Skit, a beautifully crafted tribute to the enchanting world of books. Through expressive performances, the skit portrayed books as eternal companions that enlighten, inspire, and nurture imagination. The Grand Finale dance performance was a dazzling spectacle, painting the stage with energy, colour, and celebration.
The Vote of Thanks, delivered by the Junior Coordinator, Ms. Meena Sharma, expressed heartfelt gratitude to everyone who contributed to making the evening truly memorable. As the School Song and the National Anthem resonated across the grounds, the celebration drew to a close, leaving hearts filled with pride and minds glowing with inspiration.
Varnanjali 2025 emerged not just as an annual function, but as an artistic celebration of learning, creativity, and collective joy—an evening that left behind a lingering glow of hope, gratitude, and brilliance for the journey ahead.
