St. John’s School took a proud step towards spreading the message of cleanliness and hygiene by actively participating in the Swachhata Hi Sewa Campaign 2025. On 26th September 2025, the school observed Swachhotsav 2025 with the theme “Cleanliness and Hygiene”. The event was designed to instill in young learners the values of responsibility, respect for the environment, and the importance of maintaining personal as well as community hygiene.
The celebration began with enthusiastic participation from Classes III and IV, who showcased their creativity through a painting activity. Their posters beautifully highlighted the significance of clean surroundings, proper handwashing, waste segregation, and the urgent need to say no to plastic. Armed with oil pastels, sketch pens, and vibrant colours, the children painted not just pictures but also powerful messages that resonated with everyone present. Equally engaging was the slogan writing activity by Class V students, conducted in both English and Hindi. Their catchy and thoughtful slogans emphasized the role each individual must play in keeping their environment clean, leaving a lasting impact on their peers and teachers.
The spirit of Swachhotsav continued beyond 26th September, as the school organized a workshop on personal hygiene on 29th September 2025. The session guided students on simple yet essential practices such as maintaining washroom hygiene in schools and public places. It also sensitized adolescents about the natural changes during their growing years, encouraging them to embrace these changes with confidence, self-respect, and respect for the opposite gender. The workshop further stressed the importance of keeping homes and surroundings clean to ensure good health and well-being.
Adding to the momentum, students of Classes IX and X performed a Nukkad Natak both inside and outside the school premises. Their spirited street play effectively conveyed messages about personal hygiene, waste management, and community cleanliness. The performance drew the attention of parents, passersby, and local residents, making it a powerful medium to spread awareness among the larger community.
To make the campaign even more engaging, a selfie point was installed at the school’s entry gate, themed around Swachhata Hi Sewa. This interactive corner inspired students, teachers, staff, and parents to capture their moments of pride while pledging to uphold the values of cleanliness. The joy and excitement around the selfie point reflected how cleanliness could become a matter of collective pride and responsibility.
Overall, the Swachhotsav 2025 initiative proved to be an eye-opener for everyone involved. It not only nurtured creativity and self-expression in students but also encouraged them to adopt lifelong habits of hygiene and environmental care. The campaign reinforced the idea that true patriotism lies in contributing to a cleaner and healthier nation. Through vibrant activities, meaningful discussions, and community engagement, St. John’s School successfully inspired all stakeholders to take a firm step towards making cleanliness a way of life.
