“Grandparents are the footsteps to the future generations, who leave imprints of love, care, and wisdom in the hearts of their grandchildren.”
St. John’s School, Greater Noida West, celebrated Grandparents’ Day with great joy and warmth on 20th September 2025 (Saturday). The event was specially organized by the Kindergarten Department to honour the love, wisdom, and guidance that grandparents provide in shaping young lives.
The program began with Divine Blessings and the Lord’s Prayer, followed by the lighting of the ceremonial lamp by Rev. Father T.J. Johnson, the Chief Guest Mr. Santosh Koshy Joy – an accomplished author, independent journalist, former parliamentarian, and doctoral scholar of social sciences at Delhi University, Principal Ms. Reeja Ninan and NTT Coordinator Ms. Rashmita Sarkar. This auspicious start symbolized spreading light, knowledge, and positivity.
A welcome address was delivered by Ms. Rashmita Sarkar, after which the audience was delighted by a graceful welcome dance presented by the tiny tots. The children also staged a meaningful skit that beautifully highlighted the role of grandparents as pillars of love, experience, and guidance.
The celebration became more special when grandparents themselves shared their pearls of wisdom, motivating everyone with their words. Fun moments followed with games for grandparents, which brought cheer, laughter, and active participation.
A touching segment of the program was the felicitation of Super Grand Mother and Super Grand Father, honouring grandparents who stood as shining examples of affection and inspiration. The Chief Guest, Mr. Santosh Koshy Joy, in his keynote address, appreciated the school’s initiative to strengthen the bond between generations and inspired the audience with his words.
The Chief Guest was felicitated by Rev. Father T.J. Johnson and Principal Ms. Reeja Ninan. The event concluded with a vote of thanks by Ms. Swapna Pathak (NTT Teacher), expressing heartfelt gratitude to all dignitaries, teachers, students, and especially grandparents for making the day memorable. The program ended on a patriotic note with the School Song and the National Anthem.
Grandparents left with happy hearts, cherishing the performances and love showered upon them by their grandchildren. Truly, the day reminded everyone that grandparents are the roots of families, whose love and blessings light the path of generations.
