In pursuit of enriching pedagogical practices and empowering educators with relevant tools for the modern classroom, St. John’s School hosted a highly engaging and enlightening workshop titled “Overcoming the Challenges of 21st Century Learnedness” in collaboration with Cordova Publications. The session was held in the school auditorium and was attended enthusiastically by the teaching faculty.
The workshop was conducted by Mrs. Vashi Pandey, an esteemed educationist and a passionate advocate for life skills and activity-based learning. Through her energetic and interactive approach, Mrs. Pandey emphasized the importance of reshaping the traditional roles of educators to that of facilitators—mentors who guide students not only in academics but in developing essential life competencies.
Highlighting the metaphor, “Teachers are lighthouses,” she eloquently reminded the audience of their powerful role in illuminating young minds amidst the stormy seas of the 21st century. The workshop underscored the need for inclusive response systems in the classroom that foster participation from every learner, regardless of ability or background. She stressed that self-appreciation among teachers is critical for cultivating a positive and healthy learning environment.
What set the session apart was its activity-based design, ensuring that the teachers experienced first-hand the importance of experiential learning. Through group tasks, role-plays, and reflection rounds, participants gained insights into fostering collaboration, creativity, and resilience in their students.
The interactive session was both thought-provoking and transformative, leaving educators motivated to bring fresh perspectives into their teaching methodologies. The school extended heartfelt gratitude to Mrs. Pandey and Cordova Publications for initiating this powerful dialogue and reaffirming the school's vision of nurturing future-ready learners.
