This May, St. John’s School turned into a vibrant playground of imagination and discovery through its very first summer camp experience— “Summer unplugged@SJS 1.0.” Designed especially for students of Grades 1 to 5, the summer camp extravaganza brought together a wonderful blend of art, music, dance, and fitness, creating a magical space where every child could shine beyond the classroom walls.

From the very first day, the energy was infectious. The Art & Craft sessions gave wings to every child’s creativity. Tiny hands worked with colours, textures, and ideas to produce everything from cheerful collages to imaginative masks. Each creation was a testament to their limitless imagination and joyful experimentation.

In the Music sessions, corridors echoed with laughter, rhythm, and melody. Whether they were learning new songs, clapping to beats, or exploring sounds with basic instruments, children discovered how music could become a language of emotion, fun, and connection.

But the heartbeat of the camp was surely the Dance sessions, where students learned the lively and traditional moves of Bhangra. With each beat of the dhol and every vibrant step, children expressed pure joy and cultural pride. The dance floor came alive with energy, coordination, and an infectious sense of celebration.

Adding to the excitement were the high-energy Sports Fit sessions, where children embraced physical fitness through fun drills, yoga, and engaging team games. These activities weren’t just about exercise—they encouraged teamwork, balance, flexibility, and the sheer thrill of movement in the open air.

It was in these shared moments of creativity and action that a beautiful transformation occurred—not just in skill or confidence, but in friendship and self-expression.

Each day brought something new, something fun, and something to remember. Children unplugged from screens and plugged into real experiences—ones that touched their hearts and brought out the best in them.

The grand finale on 30th May was a moment of pride and celebration. With beaming smiles and glowing faces, every child received a certificate recognizing their enthusiastic participation, effort, and growth throughout the camp. It wasn’t just a token of completion, but a symbol of courage, creativity, and the joy of trying something new.

“Summer unplugged@SJS 1.0” was not just a camp. It was a canvas of colours, music, dance, play, and heartfelt memories—a summer that our young Johnites will carry with them as a spark of joy and inspiration for the journeys ahead.
