"Being born in a free country allows us to enjoy our freedoms while also having the responsibility to strengthen our nation."
A special assembly was held at St. John's on August 13, 2024, to honor the sacrifices made by our freedom fighters and to celebrate the privilege of being born in a free country. Organized by the students of classes VII D and E, the assembly began with the Lord's Prayer, followed by the Thought of the Day and the pledge. Students were then briefed on current headlines.
The highlight of the assembly was a skit that depicted significant moments in our nation's history, starting with an introduction to the Quit India Movement. The skit vividly portrayed the sacrifices of countless immortal souls who gave their lives for our freedom. This sentiment was further emphasized through a powerful dance performance by the students, bringing a tangible emotional depth to the event. The assembly concluded with the singing of the National Anthem.
