“If your why is clear, your how becomes anyhow!”
Mental health refers to much more than simply the absence of mental disorders andstudent’s mental health is an important consideration that an educational institution must be trained for and ready to handle.
St. John’s School is committed to protecting the mental health of its students. In this regard, a workshop was conducted on mental health for class VIII and IX students on Saturday, 05.08.2023.The session started with a bang as the resource person Mr Gagan Tripathi from Healthy Chronology made the students respond louder and louder. A wave of excitement wrapped the whole auditorium. Next, he shared an interesting story about being thirsty in the middle of a desert and having found a hand-pump at a distance but not being able to drink water given the circumstances. Through a fun activity of walking, clapping, jumping etc, following resource person’s instructions students were told about the concept of unlearning and how it influences our performance in our daily life. Students learned the importance of maintaining cordial and healthy relationships with others and how to achieve an overall sense of contentment. They were told that a high level of mental health will fetch them increased learning, productivity and prosocial behavior. Queries of students were addressed in a wonderful manner and the session ended on a warm note.
